About me

Hello, everyone! My name is Ruitian Gao. I am an Assistant Research Fellow at the Clinical Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. I received my Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2025, where I studied under the guidance of Prof. Zhangsheng Yu, and was awarded the Zhiyuan Honors Doctoral Degree. I received B.S. in Bioinformatics and a double B.Eng. in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020. I have great passion for cross-disciplinary research of AI + Biomedicine. My current research area focuses on the field of precise diagnosis and prognosis of tumors using deep learning and statistical methods based on medical images (CT, histological images) and omics data (single-cell multi-omics, spatial transcriptomics).

• Oct 2021, CrepHAN: cross-species prediction of enhancers by using hierarchical attention networks was published in Bioinformatics.
• Sep 2021, Deep learning for differential diagnosis of malignant hepatic tumors based on multi-phase contrast-enhanced CT and clinical data was published in Journal of Hematology & Oncology.
• Dec 2020, I was endowed “Chun-Tsung scholar” by T.D. Lee.
